The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson.

Love is in the air. February is the month of hearts and chocolate. Perfect month to share with you all, one of my favorite songs about love.

The Way I Am (2007) is a song by american singer and composer Ingrid Michaelson from her second studio album Girls and Boys.

The Way I Am is a short and sweet song about love. I like it a lot. The rhythm, the music, the lyrics, the voice. It’s so cheerful, happy and romantic. It’s like I said, short and sweet but full of meaning.

The Way I Am talks about love in the pure sense of the word. It talks about love in everyday stuff. It talks about love without complications. It talks about loving one another completely, with virtues and flaws. It talks about being there for your loved one. It talks about the kind of love I want, the kind of love I can give.

If you read the lyrics, at first glance they look simple and irrelevant. They might not be a whole poetic composition of the Shakespearean kind. But you see, for me that’s the magic of this song. Sometimes I don’t need flamboyant words to say I love you for the way you are and for taking me The Way I Am.

The Way I Am has a special place in the playlist of my life. If I’m happy or sad, no matter what mood I am, this song puts a smile on my face. Ingrid, you rock for that! 🙂

I like this song.

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I’d find a match.Cuz I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I’ll make it better.

Cuz I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.

I’d buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.

Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
