I read a couple of young adult books back in June. Thought the reviews were being auto posted here. Anyway, if someone finds them useful here you go. 😉
The Green Door by V.A. Jeffrey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Loved the cover. Have to admit the cover drew me towards the book.
If you liked The secret garden and the Narnia chronicles, this is a good book to read. Anne is a lovely little girl and the world she discovers is fantastic. It makes you use your imagination. I like books that transport you to places you can only imagine.
Didn’t give it five stars because for me it ended too abruptly.
Overall, it’s lovely fairytale for kids and adults with a kid heart 😉
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I like to read a young adult story every once in a while. Keeps my neurons young…or so I like to think! HA! I liked this book. I would give it a 3.5 star if the rating system allowed me to.If I judge the book by the cover, I’d give it 5 stars. Love the pic with her red hood and all.
Found the Grimm descendants’ curse plot interesting. Mina is relatable to many teenage girls. Her clumsiness and attitude reminded me of Bella Swan for some reason (don’t beat me Twihards, this is my review and I’m keeping it real). Nan was adorable. Brody is the teenage dream.
My inner teenage girl was happy reading this book. The way it ended was good, although I didn’t run to get the sequel, I’m pretty sure the young adults for whom the book is written would do. I enjoyed this one. Would recommend it to my young adult peeps.
I can’t explain why but I found myself underlining this book!
***spoiler alert*** “He wasn’t expecting to see the vision of his daydreams standing in his own driveway …”awwwww vision of his daydreams pure teenage corny mushy love ha ha ha don’t you just love it?You eat food, real food and not rabbit food.” HILARIOUS! I’m one of those real food eaters!! Go us!! ha ha ha!
“Mina looked up in surprise just as Brody kissed her gently on the forehead.
“I want to be more”.” awwww My inner teenage girl sighed after reading this. Too sweet.
“His heart swelled with happiness and ached at the same time for her.” awwww too charmingly corny adorable
“So you started to build up that wall between us again, I can tell. You like to hide behind that wall, locked inside that tower.” totally relate to this at this point in my life…I’m not the one hiding but the one trying to blow an impenetrable wall…oh well life is life.
